POSITION OVERVIEW
The Controller is a leader who can guide the financial systems that empower us.
The Controller will have a day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and strengthen our financial position.
This includes understanding current accounting practices, trends, and benchmarking.
This position is also responsible for training, development, and management of Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff.
This leadership role requires clear and effective communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES
Controls efficient cash management, investments, insurance, budgets, financial reporting, and helps drive the company's financial strategy.
Leads project and business performance reviews, utilizes historical and trending data to validate detailed project reporting, and follows Company standards for job costing and revenue reporting for company earnings reports.
Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and department budgets, as well as reporting for the same
Drives continuous improvement throughout the organization and is a proponent for positive change.
Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting and internal control activities.
Develop, implement, and review best practices to ensure a well-controlled yet agile organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows.
Comply with national and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action.
Shows eagerness to learn the ins and outs of the field operations to better understand and communicate financial reports and data with relevant Stakeholders.
Manage accounting personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities, i.

, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Internal Revenue Service, State governments.
Displays first-rate customer service skills - willing to help with a positive attitude when/where needed and be helped with gratitude.
Oversee HR operations, including hiring needs in the accounting department, as well as company Safety Documentation compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
4 plus years of accounting/financial analysis experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or an equivalent degree
Technical experience in accounting, including: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax.
Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Effective communication (both oral and written), organization and interpersonal skills.
Strong work ethic and eagerness to produce high quality results and personal integrity.
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Active CPA license in good-standing
