JOB
The Sheriff Clerk position is a shift work position with days (0700 to 1500), evenings (1500 to 2300), and overnight shifts (2300 to 0700), weekends and holidays included.
Shifts are assigned based on seniority.
May include forced overtime.
Performs a wide variety of clerical and administrative support duties in the Sheriff's office; does related work as required.
Applicant is subject to a post-offer, pre-employment background check.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Answers phones and assists public in lobby and determines nature of request for service or assistance and refers the individual to the proper person, division or agency;Enters incident supplements into Records Management Computer System and enters information and data in NCIC as needed; Responsible for quality control of timely, accurate and complete entries into NCIC-Missing Persons, Gun, Vehicle and Article files that are subject to biennial FBI Federal and CJIN State audits; Updates all case activity, including case arrests, additional property information, and case dispositions;Validates warrants for authorized law enforcement agencies;Confirms theft reports when stolen vehicles, property and guns are recovered by other agencies.
