QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalency.
Must have current Montana driver's license.
Ability to pass Federal workplace drug and alcohol testing requirements.
Good writing and verbal skills.
Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office programs.
PREFERRED: Experience working in community corrections.
Experience working in environmental services.
SALARY AND BENEFITS The current starting salary for the position is $17.
00 per hour, although consideration will be given the successful candidate's experience and educational background.
Anticipated Salary Increases in 2024: Based on DOC funding expectations, it is anticipated all permanent staff as of applicable effective date can anticipate $1.
00 increase in July 2024.
During the fall 2024 and based on agency financial status at the time, it can be anticipated for review of Cost of Living adjustment.
Permanent full-time employees of Alternatives, Inc.

Permanent part-time employees are entitled to a pro-rata share of benefits based on the percentage of full-time hours worked (full-time = 40 hours per week).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES General Overview: The Housekeeping Assistant (HA) is directly accountable to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
The HA is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness for all agency equipment, facilities, and grounds.
To accomplish this, the HA is assigned supervision of Inmate Workers, and draws on the resident population who are responsible for room care and cleanliness of the common areas of residential facilities.
Tasks include training Inmate Workers and residents, monitoring their performance of duties, documenting the completion of assignments, and performing regular inspections to assess sanitation, maintenance, housekeeping needs and safety needs.
Close coordination is required with Client Advisor and Kitchen personnel.
General Requirements: 1.
All employees of Alternatives, Inc.
are responsible for reading and complying with standards and procedures in the following documents: a.
Employee Handbook b.
Standard Operating Procedures Specific Duties: Supervise Inmate Workers.
They are to be supervised indirectly on first floor (check on them every 30 minutes), and directly if outside.
No inmate workers are to be taken to a secured unit.
Do facility laundry including resident uniforms, rags, towels, bedding, and other items as needed.
Restock chemicals, paper products, rags, and linens.
Hand out hygiene supplies to residents.
Sew and repair drapes, clothing, and bedspreads.
Reupholster when needed.
Check house jobs done by residents.
If not completed, issue a pass restriction and ensure another resident, inmate worker, or housekeeping personnel completes the job.
Wash, clean, and vacuum each van once per week.
Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
Sometimes using ladders, dust and wash walls, clean ceilings, and dust and polish light fixtures.
Wash blinds.
Remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
Dust furniture, woodwork, and equipment.
Operate mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, shampooers, and related environmental service equipment.
Gather and dispose of trash and waste materials using specified bags or containers.
Move furniture, cabinets, boxes, crates, equipment, and other heavy objects as required.
Clean and disinfect all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
Makes supply packs for departments and put linen stacks in carts for distribution.
Take supply requests and deliver them.
Deliver linens to departments according to pre-established par levels and schedules.
Distribute emergency supplies as needed.
Keep records of linen distribution by floor and facility; check linen supplies and list linen use by floor/program.
Keep work areas neat and orderly, clean equipment, and assist with other cleaning duties as assigned.
