JOB SUMMARY
This position is a split between Barista & front line duties.
The position provides visitors and employees with prompt enthusiastic service of quality coffee beverages and food products.
This includes but is not limited to: prepping pizzas for lunch services, maintaining the salad bar station during lunch, daily cleaning tasks, practicing excellent customer service skills, and running the cash register.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in the art of making high quality whole bean coffee and espresso drinks necessary.
Food service background and skill with cash register to account sales preferred.
Food service experience preferred, especially hospital food service experience, but not required.
SKILLS
Good people and communication skills required.
Ability to get along with co-workers and other staff.
Ability to handle stress, pressure and deadlines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepares consistent, high quality flavored coffee and espresso drinks using recipes.
Serves fresh pastry and breakfast food items as available.
Greets each guest in a prompt, professional, friendly manner.
Inventory supplies to maintain appropriate amount according to customer demands.
Calls in supply order to food service supervisor in a timely manner.
Restock supplies.
Maintains coffee bar area in a clean, neat fashion.
Sanitizes equipment and table area.
Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products and areas.
Handles cash and coffee cards, giving correct change.
Uses cash register to help keep accurate accounting of sales.
Bring cash sales and cash register receipts to hospital cashier on a daily basis.
Is creative with ideas to increase sales.
Prepares beverages & other food for the hospital tray line.
Helps with hospital tray line.
Is a good customer service representative for Nutrition Services.
Busses tables.
Cleans, sanitizes and hops assigned area of kitchen.
May be requested to do other positions (cold foods, cafeteria server or pots and pan position).
