As a vital part of our transportation network, bus drivers play a crucial role in providing reliable and efficient service to our community.
We are currently hiring both Class B CDL drivers and Non-CDL drivers to contribute to the success of WRTA Bus Lines.
*Responsibilities:* * *Safe Operation:* Operate buses in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to traffic laws and WRTA Bus Lines' safety guidelines.
* *Passenger Service:* Provide excellent customer service to passengers, including assistance with boarding, fare collection, and route information.
* *Route Adherence:* Follow assigned routes and schedules, making timely stops and arrivals at designated locations.
* *Vehicle Maintenance:* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, reporting any issues promptly.
Ensure the cleanliness and general upkeep of the vehicle.
* *Communication:* Maintain effective communication with dispatchers and other team members to report delays, mechanical issues, or other relevant information.
* *Adaptability:* Respond to changing conditions, traffic, and unforeseen circumstances while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
* *Customer Assistance:* Assist passengers, including those with disabilities, in a courteous and helpful manner.
*Qualifications:* * *Class B CDL (for CDL Drivers):* Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement and air brake certification.
* *Clean Driving Record:* A safe driving record with no major traffic violations.
* *Non-CDL Drivers:* For those without a CDL, a valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
* *Customer Service Skills:* Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach.
* *Reliability:* Punctuality and dependability are essential for maintaining schedule adherence.
* *Physical Fitness:* Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including assisting passengers and handling luggage if necessary.
* *Availability:* Flexibility in work hours to accommodate rotating schedules, including evenings and weekends.
*Requirements:* * High school diploma or equivalent.
* Previous experience in Public Transportation, customer service, or a related field is preferred.
* Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick, effective decisions.
* Must pass a background check and drug screening.
*Compensation:* * *CDL Drivers:* Starting wage of $18.
00 per hour.
* *Non-CDL Drivers:* Starting wage of $16.
50 per hour.
