*JOB OBJECTIVE*: Client Access Specialists are responsible for one of the first impressions a client will have of the MHC.
The Specialists are instrumental in ensuring the efficient and effective flow of client access needs as well as initiating the revenue cycle throughout the Center.
Responsibilities include: providing excellence in customer service by greeting, registering, and gathering appropriate information for clinical, patient financial services, requesting.
Must fully understand the ramifications and impacts of incomplete or inaccurate information as it relates to clinical staff, client care, and the revenue cycle.
*SCOPE OF JOB*: This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Accounting Coordinator.
The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Some travel may be required during work hours.
*SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES*:
o Admissions
- Receives calls regarding inquiries for services and provides instructions regarding enrollment into services.
- Gathers enrollment data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Verifies pertinent information such as address, phone number, insurance info, etc.
- Ensures current copies of insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, or other cards are on file.
o Scheduling
- Schedules appointments for clients based on the policies set forth for each program.
- Ensures MHC always has current information regarding client’s insurance coverages.
- Requests payments when necessary and refers clients with delinquent accounts to the Accounting Coordinator prior to scheduling the next appointment.
o
o General Duties
- Performs opening and closing duties which include: unlocking and locking doors at the beginning and close of each business day, logging on and off the computer, ticketing appointments for the next day, and backing up computer files.
- Performs a variety of general office tasks including compiling application packets, stuffing envelopes for billing, opening and closing client charts, handling return mail, and filing.
- Maintains and verifies cash drawn daily for clients making payments.
- Answers questions and provides information to people inquiring about MHC services and/or routes questions and/or people to appropriate personnel.
- Maintains tact, diplomacy and professionalism at all times.
- Maintains confidentiality and abides by applicable APA and HIPAA guidelines
- Attends meetings and trainings as required
- Maintains awareness of work environment and performs duties in a safe and responsible manner.
Follows security procedures as needed.
- Back-up other support staff as needed
