Overview
As a technician at I90 Diesel Repair you will maintain, diagnose, and repair trucks and various trailer types.
You will utilize a company service truck and shop to maintain and repair equipment in the Billings area with occasional travel within Montana.
You will work with a close-knit team and enjoy three days off per week! You will be able to take advantage of additional opportunities such as gaining certifications through as well as opportunity for OT.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring trucks and trailers are maintained and safe for our drivers in accordance with DOT regulations
- Performing preventative maintenance in a timely manner without supervision
- Communicating with dispatch and the driver supervisor to coordinate fleet maintenance and repairs
-Lead a team of other mechanics underneath your supervision.
-Create work orders for company trucks as well as customer trucks.
-Order parts for inventory purposes and reconcile for audit purposes.
-Take payment for repair orders.
- Diagnosing and repairing all components of fleet equipment
- Maintaining a safe working environment
- Operate within the bounds of all applicable laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, supervisors, and general public at all times.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years' experience working on heavy duty diesel trucks & trailers
- Technical ASE certification or degree, Engine Diagnostics, EPA Certification, CDL Class A, ASE 609, Detroit Cert or Cummins Cert.
- Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth certification or willingness to take advantage of certification opportunities
- Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting truck and trailer components
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
- Must have general set of tools necessary for fleet maintenance/ repair
- Must be able to walk, climb, stand, carry equipment and parts, stoop, kneel, and bend at waist throughout the workday.
Compensation/ Benefits:
65k-90k per year DOE
1 week vacation (after 6 months)
3 days paid sick leave (after 6 months)
Medical (after 6 months)
Additional pay for the candidate who has specialty or diagnostic tools.
