*JOB SUMMARY:*
The Children’s Clinic is hiring for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to add to our team.
We are looking for an employee who is the right fit for the clinic culture we are building just as much as we’re looking for an employee with strong interpersonal and technical skills.
So, if you’re a motivated, team-oriented, and upbeat person who is looking for a job with solid pay and great benefits, please reach out! We anticipate hiring a candidate for 5 shifts per week including periodic weekends (Saturday 8am-5pm and Sunday 11:30am-5:30pm) per month.
However, we would consider part-time for exceptional candidates.
Weekend shifts worked will substitute for weekday shifts; they will not be in addition to 5 weekday shifts.
This position will also participate in our evening clinic (5-7pm) rotation, which amounts to 1-2 evening clinic shifts per month.
*Nursing Responsibilities:* * Prepare exam rooms at the beginning of the shift ensuring they are clean and well stocked.
* Escort patients to room and obtain vital signs appropriate to visit type.
* Assist provider or perform independently, any necessary procedures*.
* * Administer vaccines as appropriate according to Montana State Law.
Update data in EMR and state imMTrax registry.
* Perform any back-office testing, specimen collection and or phlebotomy as ordered by provider.
Chart results in EMR.
* Provide patient education verbally and/or in written form.
* Schedule tests or procedures to be done outside of the office as ordered by provider.
* Answer incoming phone calls from patients and give them medical advice according to predetermined nursing protocols.
* Make decisions about patients needing to be seen urgently, same day or the next day.
* Call patients with test or procedure results after consulting with provider.
* Call in prescriptions as needed with primary prescription ordering being done electronically.
* Obtain prior authorization for meds and/or procedures as necessary.
* Track and follow up on unresulted tests, imaging and referrals.
* Using disinfectant wipes, wipe down and restock exam rooms after each patient.
* Maintains stock supplies and completes reorder forms as needed.
* Perform daily controls as needed as well as record fridge and freezer temps on assigned days.
* Assist in maintaining an adequate supply of patient education documents as well as newborn notebooks.
Secondary/Shared Responsibilities: * Following up on referrals and unresulted labs for other members of the nursing team to enhance patient flow.
* Assist phone nurse as needed in returning patient phone calls.
* Schedule appointments as needed.
* Other duties which may be assigned on an as needed basis.
*Required Work Habits:* * Regular attendance.
* Punctuality with respect to arrival, lunch hour and shift end.
* Flexibility when necessary for OT and weekend hours or with respect to changes in work environment.
* Ability to work as a member of a team, both within the nursing team and in respect to the receptionist, billing, and provider teams.
*QUALIFICATIONS:* * Ability to multi-task is essential.
* Crisis management, flexibility, telephone skills, customer service, time management, organization, attention to detail, and computer skills are required.
* Professional demeanor and an ability to work with children and to deal diplomatically with difficult patients/parents, when necessary.
*CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:* * Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing * Must have a current Montana nursing license.
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS:* * Some lifting may be required (25-50lb).
* Occasional bending, stretching, squatting and stooping is required.
*WORK ENVIRONMENT:* The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
*PAY RANGE:* Pay rate starts at $21.
00 per hour but is negotiable for highly qualified individuals with the skills and experience we’re looking for.

This position is subject to a twelve (12) month probationary period, during which time you will become acquainted with the job and the Children’s Clinic will become familiar with your skills and potential.
If your performance or behavior is found to be unsatisfactory, your employment may be terminated without cause during the probationary period.
Evaluations will be periodically conducted to assess performance.
This position is eligible for benefits during the probationary period.
Health, vision, and dental insurance coverage begin the first of the month following 30 days of employment at the Clinic.
Paid time off accrues from the first day of employment and is available for use at 3 months.
The employee is eligible for generous retirement benefits at 1 year of employment.
