Duties:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment as needed
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
- Document patient information accurately and timely
Skills:
- Senior care: Experience in providing care for elderly patients, including assistance with mobility, personal hygiene, and medication management.
- Pediatrics: Knowledge and experience in caring for children of various ages, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing emotional support.
- Dementia care: Understanding of the unique needs of patients with dementia, including behavior management techniques and creating a safe environment.
- Tube feeding: Proficiency in administering nutrition through feeding tubes and monitoring for complications or adverse reactions.
- Behavioral health: Familiarity with mental health conditions and techniques for de-escalation and crisis intervention.
- Patient service: Strong customer service skills to provide compassionate care and address patient needs effectively.
- Memory care: Knowledge of strategies to support individuals with memory loss or cognitive impairments in maintaining their independence and quality of life.
- Medication administration: Competence in safely administering medications according to prescribed dosages and schedules.
- Airway management: Ability to assess airway patency, perform basic airway maneuvers, and assist with respiratory treatments as directed.
- Suture: Basic understanding of wound closure techniques using sutures under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
