Job Summary This role is responsible for the development, influencing and execution of exposure management strategies across the major perils (SCS, Hurricane, Wildfire, Earthquake, Winter storm) for the enterprise.
The role requires close collaboration with Foremost Specialty, Business Insurance, and other product functions including State Management to develop, document, and execute recommended exposure management actions.
Essential Job Functions - Leads process with key stakeholders, including executive and senior leadership, on the development and implementation of comprehensive exposure management process, reporting and controls.
- Collaborates with State, National, Legal, Underwriting, and Technology to implement catastrophe management strategies.
- Drives catastrophe pricing, terms and conditions, and underwriting for current and any new product development.
- Leads at least one individual in support of major analytic projects developing exposure management practices.
Physical Actions This role, whether performed virtually or in an office setting, will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions.
Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift.
Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance.
Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (example others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
Visually verifies and reads information.
Visually locates material, resources and other objects.
Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift.
Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
Education Requirements - Bachelor's degree required preferably in business management, mathematics, management information, finance, actuarial science, economics, or other analytics related field.
Experience Requirements - 7-10 years in insurance management including product, finance, marketing, actuarial, exposure management and/or underwriting.
- Insurance risk management experience.
Experience in either product management, underwriting, CAT modelling, or other related topics are helpful to ensuring success in this role.
Preferred Qualification - Product background.
Deep understanding of our products (class plan/ROC) contract language (coverage and all the forms) - Knowledge of insurance regulations and compliance requirements, product and pricing techniques.
Understanding of competitive environment.
- Ability to justify recommendations and influence other groups to accept the implications of the exposure management recommendations and take action.
