Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant - Long Term Care (CNA LTC)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Long Term Care (LTC) facility.
As a CNA in LTC, you will provide essential support to residents in their daily activities, while ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing.
Your role will involve assisting with personal hygiene, feeding, transferring, and documenting individual care plans.
By delivering high-quality care, you will contribute to an enhanced quality of life for our residents.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Aid in transferring residents from beds, wheelchairs, or commodes using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Support residents during meals by serving their nutritional needs and ensuring they receive adequate hydration.
- Document residents’ care consistently and accurately, including observations, changes in condition, and incidents.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive and caring environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized living area for residents, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to meet residents’ medical, emotional, and social needs.
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations, protocols, and facility policies, promoting a safe and ethical working environment.
- Continuously enhance your knowledge and skills through ongoing education and training opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state you will be working.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a CNA in long term care facilities is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathize and connect with residents and their families.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and infection control procedures.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
