Primary Purpose:
The Sales Agent Specialist is responsible for developing expertise in Property and Casualty insurance and selling P&C products based on client needs.
This role uses cutting-edge technology to provide quotes and sell policies across multiple insurance lines and carriers.
In addition, this role is responsible for providing outstanding client service and creating a positive relationship between the company and its prospective clients.
This position may also participate in cross-training and necessary licensing to support selling of Accident and Health products.
Key Responsibilities:
Acquires licensing and appointments required to sell property and casualty insurance products in all necessary states
Uses various systems to track, gather information and answer customer inquiries
Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using sales tools and techniques
Develops expertise in sales skills
Develops expertise in property and casualty insurance across all product lines, including ancillary policies
Educates clients on insurance needs and products
Pairs knowledge of insurance products available with listening skills to identify and provide products that best meets each customer’s needs
Works collaboratively to support the team’s energy, morale, and production
Meets key performance metrics such as sales, productivity and quality requirements
Performs other duties as requested, including attending required meetings, continuing education, and all-team meetings

Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
P&C License or the ability to acquire within 60 days of hire
Ability to be qualified by DOI to be appointed as a licensed sales agent by multiple insurance carriers
Functional Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Demonstrates adequate/accurate typing speed while talking to the customer
Demonstrates a working knowledge of auto policies, underwriting and billing guidelines
Demonstrates professional phone etiquette
Demonstrates proficiency with Sales systems
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Pay Transparency
Compensation: The average annualized Total Cash Compensation in 2022 was $50,000*.
Total compensation includes $15.
00 Hourly Base ($31,200 Annual) + monthly performance-based incentive.
Average monthly incentive payout for 2022 was $1,500* ($18,800 Annual).
*Incentive based on productivity; incentive payments are not guaranteed and are governed by the terms of the applicable sales bonus plan which is subject to change at National General’s discretion
